Howard Mapperley MRICS
Howard is an Executive Director and co-Founder of Inventa Partners Ltd and a Chartered Surveyor.
Like all Inventa Directors Howard has a dual role working with industrial clients looking to identify innovative step change within their businesses through accessing and acquiring key technological innovation and research and with clients engaged in urban regeneration looking to developed strategies to deliver ambitious environmental aspirations and create assets out of liabilities.
Howard, like his fellow Directors, has strategic responsibility for a number of Inventa’s public and private sector clients and he has also has specific responsibility for the management of the strategic partnerships with the Building Research Establishment (BRE), the Fraunhofer Institute of Building Physics.
Before he joined Inventa Partners Ltd, Howard was Commercialisation Director with the technology transfer company Atomic Tangerine (former spin-out of Stanford Research Institute) where he was responsible for the identification and delivery of technology ventures, principally within the fields of Broadband/Interactive TV and Natural Language. Additional responsibilities included being part of the investment and approvals Board overseeing the company’s investment strategy.
Prior to Atomic Tangerine’s move into pure technology transfer Howard was responsible for the delivery of E-Strategy projects and achieved sales 150% above target. During this period he led the development and delivery of the Ecommerce strategy for Sainsbury’s Bank.
Before joining Atomic Tangerine Howard spent 6 years with Prudential plc. The last 3 of those years were spent as Head of Internet Services for Prudential’s Asset Management Company, PPM Ltd, and managing Ecommerce strategy for their offices in London, Chicago, Hong Kong, Singapore and Cape Town.
Howard also acted as a consultant to the plc Board advising on ECommerce issues and opportunities with an emphasis on over-the-horizon technologies and was instrumental in the development of several key strategic initiatives across the Group including several within Prudential’s internet bank Egg.
Howard holds a degree in Land Administration, is an associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and work for worked for 10 years in the UK property markets. This early experience has proved invaluable in his current work developing Multi-Utility Services strategies as it enables him to work seamlessly across sectors such as technology, property, data services and urban regeneration.
