Gideon Davenport, Executive Director, has over 13 years proven experience in marketing, business development, innovation and strategy consultancy for a wide variety of industries. He has significant experience in assisting R&D institutes and corporate clients in exploring technology commercialisation opportunities.

Upon graduation he joined Thames Water Plc, one of the UK’s leading utility companies, entering their graduate business development programme, where he undertook a variety of roles across operations, marketing, PR and internal consultancy. In the year before leaving Thames Water he was responsible for the creation and launch of a ‘home emergency’ insurance product to the 13 million customer base.

At Maritz (US marketing agency) he was the Account Director responsible for a number of high profile electronics and telecommunication clients. He then spent a number of years as a lead Strategy Consultant with the Stanford Research Institute Consultancy (SRIC), where he led and developed a number of ‘over-the-horizon’ innovation projects, focused on new products and markets for a number of blue-chip clients. This experience led him with a select group of colleagues to establish Atomic Tangerine UK, Stanford Research Institute’s technology transfer company. The experience, learning and industry insights gained during his time with Atomic led to Gideon and his co-founders creating Inventa Partners Ltd in 2001 – a technology innovation consultancy focused on the art of successful technology transfer.

Gideon has a BSc.Hons degree from the University of Nottingham, he is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is a keen skier and mountain biker.
